visiting this site for the first time and don't own a copy of ED.

Start with the Register option at the top left. The more
information you can provide the better we can serve you. Once you
have completed the registration form you will be sent an email you
need to respond to, to confirm your registration. Simply follow the
instructions in the email. You will then get immediate access to the
Pre-Sales Questions and Evaluation Software Downloads forums.
Because you don't own a copy of ED you won't be able to access
the ED Customer Forums.

I'm
a New Customer and want to access the forums.

may be delayed.
Once you have

I'm
an Existing Customer who Registered on the ED Forums prior to 25 Feb
2004
For various
technical reasons we were not able to migrate information from
the old forums to the new package. To ensure you still have access
to the wealth of information in the older forums they will still
be available to you. We ask however that you don't start any new
topics in the old forums, nor post any messages unless they resolve
a specific issue which you consider important. Instead please
use the new Forums.
Because we
were not able to migrate your existing customer details to the new
forums you will have to register again. We are sorry to inconvenience
you in this way. When Registering remember the more information you
can provide the better we can serve you. Ensure that you enter your Full
Name and ED Serial Number, otherwise access to the ED
Customer Forums may not be forthcoming or may be delayed.

After carefully
evaluating the mainstream Forum packages we have settled on vBulletin
Version 3 which is the market leader in commercial Forum software. As
noted on our What's New
page w-agora has served us well over the years but we needed to move
to a more professional forum solution.
Some of the
features of the new forums include:

login from any PC once you've logged in once.
- Modern user
interface with easy navigation and customisation.
- Search across
all forums or within a forum.
- Advanced
search capabilities.
- Sticky posts
which stay at the top of a forum.
- Tree style
message outline, flat or hybrid views.

since your last visit.
- Private

- A very nice
WYSIWYG editor.
- Create Polls
to gather feedback from others.
- Rate forum
posts.
- Use your own
Personal Signature, Avatar and Picture in posts.
- See your
subscribed threads and attachments.
- Setup Buddy
and Ignore Lists.

messages in your local time zone.
- A much more powerful
administration system for us to use.
You will notice
that we have drastically trimmed the number of ED Customer Forums
opting for a less is better approach. If you feel we have gone a
little to far and would like to see some additional forum categories
let us know.

some time and have a look around the new forums and give us any
feedback you may have, via. the forums of course.
The Email
dilemma and our Private Messaging Solution.
Using email as a
reliable business communications tool is becoming more problematic by
the day. Email is frequently blocked or sidelined by Spam Filters, and
the recipient typically doesn't know. Furthermore some people use Spam
block lists which can block our email. We have never sent spam and
never will however it seems that it is still possible to appear on a
block list. We have always been proud of our
very prompt customer service, but when a customer doesn't get an email
we send, for whatever reason, what can we do!
Our move to a
dedicated Web and Mail Server where we are in total control will help
to prevent some problems at our end, but doesn't help when people have
spam filters in place which block legitimate email. Unfortunately in
the fight to block spam this is becoming all too common.
Please carefully
check your spam filters and use of spam block lists. Better still f
you want to have any sort of reliable email with the outside world
stop using them or at a minimum put a white-list system in place and
make sure we are added to it.
The bottom
line is that if you don't get a reply from us we can all but guarantee
the problem is at your end and not ours.
Our new Forum
system includes a Private Messaging capability which lets
anyone on our Forums communicate without being concerned about email
not getting through. If you need to contact us privately or
already have and didn't get a prompt reply (even though we replied!)
then please use the Forums Private Messaging.
Note that all
general support issues should be posted on the Forums. Private
Messaging is appropriate for order, license and related important
enquiries which are private.
All private
messages you send and receive are kept on our server so you can access
them at any time. In addition when you send a private message an email
is also sent to the recipient. In addition you can optionally receive
an email when someone sends you a private message or replies to a
private message. Whenever you visit the Forums you will be notified
when there are new private messages waiting for you. The Private
Messaging system also includes a confirmation system so you can be
sure the other party has read your message, unlike email.
Of course you can
still email us, but if you don't get a reply in say two business days
please use the Private
Messaging system. The Recipient Username(s) is: sales
To read our replies log back in to the forums. If there is a reply
waiting you should be notified when you log in. You should also use
the Private Messages link under the Welcome, UserName to check
your InBox. An email is sent to you when we reply, however you
probably won't see this if your spam system is still broken.
